With funding from PetSmart Charities, we have been able to hire a part-time Placement Coordinator for SafePet Ontario. We would love to introduce you to our new PC, Chelsey! She is pictured above with her beloved pup Peggy :)
Chelsey Alderson is so excited to have joined the SafePet team. Chelsey is a Registered Social Worker who specializes in trauma, grief, and mental health. She has spent the last 5 years with a Victim Services agency supporting people impacted by violent crime. She built the agency's post-secondary student placement program, created a 42-hour, trauma-informed, grief-centred training program for her team of over 75 volunteers, and chaired a committee coordinating improved community services for families impacted by homicide.
Her past experience includes community mental health, developmental services, and fostering dogs through a local rescue. Chelsey is a mom to two humans and one dog. She enjoys downhill skiing, traveling to European Christmas markets, and visiting the beach in her small town with her family.
